Geometrische Construction
Perfect right angles and parallel lines are easily created using a compass and straightedge. They are essential for large pieces such as the desktop, where distance amplifies errors. Here is how I marked perfect rectangles in preparation for cutting.
- Draw a perpendicular at the end of a line
- Draw a second perpendicular line at the required length from the first.
- Mark the width on both perpendicular lines to complete the rectangle
