My Design of the Kids’ Desks

My design is big.  The desks will fit perfectly against one wall and have side-by-side desktops.

To achieve the "lightness" present in the Wright design, I used wood blocks to lift the cabinets off the ground and separate the desktop from the cabinet.  The blocks supporting the desktop also allow the height to be adjusted.

While I could not achieve Wright's dual desktop design, I instead placed a shelf below the desktop.  This is a hidden storage shelf that will lessen clutter.

Using similar blocks as the desktop supports, an upper shelf is cantilevered over the desktop.
